I think the Met especially pride themselves on a high standard of driver training instead of going all out on lighting and relying on other road users seeing them. This is true of marked patrol vehicles like the Astras that only ever had a single lightbar with hi/low flasher. They upgraded to LED from rotating halogen when it became available but I would argue it is too bright at night and is dazzling. Personally I believe a windscreen lightbar/deck light provides enough side warning indication over fend off Chaz
